Harrison District 2 Virtual Medical Care

Understanding HPI Benefits with VirtualCare2goUploaded Image

When an illness or health concern interrupts your day, a virtual appointment may provide a more comfortable way to speak with a medical professional. VirtualCare2go™ offers convenient virtual medical care for eligible patients without requiring a trip to a clinic.

Harrison School District 2’s publicly available 2025–2026 benefits guide identifies HPI as the medical plan administrator. The guide lists EHN and FirstHealth PPO as medical networks and includes Call-A-Doc as the plan’s designated telemedicine service.

VirtualCare2go is separate from Call-A-Doc. Employees must verify whether a VirtualCare2go appointment is covered and which network or cost-sharing rules apply.

What Does the Published Medical Guide List?

The district’s publicly available 2025–2026 guide included:

  • Pinnacle Advanced Primary Care

  • Employers Health Network

  • FirstHealth PPO Network

  • Pathways Concierge

  • Call-A-Doc telemedicine

  • TrueScripts prescription benefits

The guide listed $0 access to its designated Call-A-Doc telemedicine service. That does not mean every virtual-care provider is covered at no cost.

For EHN providers, the guide listed a $50 primary care copay and a $70 urgent care copay. For FirstHealth providers, it listed a $50 primary care copay and a $70 urgent care copay, with the FirstHealth deductible and out-of-pocket maximum applying.

These amounts come from a guide covering July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. Verify current benefits before scheduling.

Can Harrison District 2 Employees Use VirtualCare2go?

Eligible employees and their covered family members may be able to use VirtualCare2go when:

  • The patient is physically located in a state where the provider can deliver care

  • VirtualCare2go participates with the member’s current plan

  • The requested virtual service is covered

  • The concern is appropriate for telemedicine

Virtual visits may be appropriate for concerns such as:

  • Cold and flu symptoms

  • Cough or congestion

  • Sore throat

  • Mild fever

  • Headaches

  • Nausea or diarrhea

  • Urinary symptoms

  • Mild rashes

  • Minor infections

  • Medication-related questions

  • Certain follow-up concerns

Some symptoms require in-person testing, imaging, procedures, or emergency evaluation.

Call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room for chest pain, severe breathing difficulty, signs of a stroke, fainting, confusion, uncontrolled bleeding, major trauma, or another life-threatening emergency.

How Do I Verify Virtual-Care Coverage?

Before booking, call HPI or Pathways Concierge using the number on your current medical card. The published guide lists Pathways Concierge at (888) 341-6810.

Ask:

  • Is VirtualCare2go covered by my current Harrison School District 2 plan?

  • Does VirtualCare2go participate through EHN, FirstHealth, or another network?

  • Will the visit process as primary care, urgent care, or telemedicine?

  • What copay, deductible, or coinsurance applies?

  • Is the plan’s $0 telemedicine benefit limited to Call-A-Doc?

  • Are laboratory tests or prescriptions processed separately?

  • Are there state or location restrictions?

  • Is prior authorization required?

Write down the representative’s name, date of the call, and reference number.

VirtualCare2go can collect your insurance information, but HPI determines the official benefit and claim outcome.

Is Prior Authorization Required?

A routine virtual visit may not always require prior authorization, but requirements depend on the service and current plan.

Contact HPI before the visit if you are unsure. Prior authorization does not guarantee payment because eligibility, network status, medical necessity, and exclusions may still apply.

How Should I Prepare for My Virtual Visit?

Before the appointment, prepare:

  • Your current insurance card

  • A photo identification card

  • A medication list

  • Known medication or food allergies

  • Your preferred pharmacy

  • Your temperature, if available

  • Recent blood-pressure, heart-rate, oxygen, or glucose readings when relevant

  • A description of your symptoms

  • The date your symptoms began

  • Relevant medical records or test results

  • A quiet, well-lit location

  • A stable internet connection

The medical professional may recommend an in-person appointment, laboratory testing, imaging, or emergency care if the concern cannot be safely managed through telemedicine.

Caring Support from Wherever You Are

VirtualCare2go provides a convenient way to discuss many non-emergency health concerns without adding the stress of traveling to a clinic. The medical professional will listen, review your symptoms, and explain whether virtual treatment or an in-person evaluation is appropriate.

Review the HPI Insurance Page, then Book a Virtual Visit or call (817) 508-8169. Have your current Harrison School District 2 insurance card available so benefits and network participation can be reviewed before the appointment.
